U.S. Cosmetics Corporation, Dayville, CT has introduced a series of Lipoaminoacid (LP)-treated pigments for use in color cosmetics. The patented, chemically bonded surface treatment is based on a combination of palmitoyl proline and other amino acids. Powder products made from LP-treated pigments and substrates exhibit excellent spreadability and uniformity compared to other surface-treated materials, as well as very good skin adhesion. Substrates available with the LP treatment include talc, sericite, mica, titanium dioxide and iron oxides.
